On one hand I don't want blown302 to beat me to the punch. On the other hand, I like my domestic situation to remain friendly.

I think the price increase is not the way to go. In this day and age keeping your prices competative (ie. lower) by reducing your operating cost is the way of today.

Why do you think that companies like Westjet are successful and companies like Air Canada had to go through a drastic remodelling to stay alive - their prices crashed down to those of Westjet's....

So Axiom get with the times!!

Ya know,...normally I would tend to agree about price increases!

This time,...hmmmmm....I wonder?

Now, if it ain't just a joke; and Ian DOES wander in and out of the test chambers spending the big bucks developing a new.....!!

Axiom is located in a very remote part of ON, so I doubt that Axiom could have a less costly overhead. Perhaps Axiom could have thier line of speakers produced outside of North America and cut some costs, would you prefer that option ?

I’m surprised to see people complaining at such a small price increase from 10$ on the M2i to 150$ on the Epic 80. Everything is going up except for wages! There is no doubt, imo, this has more to do with shipping than anything else. The EP 500 alone is 72lbs. and Axiom's lenient return policy has probably been abused to some extent and let’s not forget that Axiom is in Canada, so they also have taxes/duties to pay for the U.S.A. customers. However without the return policy I know that I, as well as many others, would not have ordered the speakers. It’s a double edged sword but I think Axiom still has dollar for dollar the best value in audio. Materials may have gone up as well but I think the majority of it has to do with shipping. Just be thankful that Axiom’s prices aren’t rising like food, gasoline or power costs.

I'm sure alot of it has to do with shipping. Fedex increased their net average rate 3.5% in Jan. Axiom has waited a month and a half to bring these increases to the consumer.

correct me if i am wrong but i don't think axiom charges duties or taxes on american buyers. Taxes are only for canadians and do not apply to americans. As for duties, unless the material came from industrial countries, and not from north america, then there might be taxes. Even still, duties are the responsibiliy of u.s. customs, and not axiom's.

well, i am just glad that i ordered my axiom setup weeks ago:) but now, i am tempted to upgrade to the m80s before the new price sets in.

Listen, I'm in the construction industry and we can't even get our subs to guarantee prices on some critical supplies and materials for more than 30 days because of all the increases and unstability. Axiom's increase is minimal when you look at the big picture. Their products and service are well worth the small increase they just imposed!!!

The m80 has increased 19% with not one but two price increases in less than a year. Around last April they went from $1100 to $1240 now $1240 to $1300. Way to many speakers in the $1500 range that will be $1300 out the door with dealer discounting and even better or equal sound quality and with better construction using materials like real wood veneer. I like Axiom but they are now going to be going up against brands that people didn't even consider before due to pricing. I say it's a mistake but thats just me.

I agree Abyss, what the heck is the problem with all of you? If you don't like their prices, which are outstanding for what you get, go buy BOSE and pay more. In reality Axiom could charge a lot more than they do, but because they don't, that is why they are so successful. I'm amazed that people have issues with this, just go work in any industry and stop flipping burgers, and maybe you'll get it...
