Our most recent addition to our center channel line-up, the VP160, is now available in two versions: Standard Power and High Power.  The High Power version utilizes our new heavy duty 6.5" woofer for much greater maximum SPL capabilities in the bass.  The High Power version would be recommended if you are using a center channel crossover point below 80Hz in a large room and/or with large amp power.

The VP160 is the best center channel speaker for our award-winning M60 floor standing speakers or LFR660 Omnidirectional speakers but will blend seamlessly with any Axiom model in the front.  Designed to place dialog right in the center of the action, the VP160 center channel features the same 6.5-inch woofers, 5.25-inch midrange, and 1-inch titanium tweeter as the floorstanding speaker, to present a seamless soundstage across your screen.

The result? Everything from the most intimate whispers to booming military commands come through loud and crystal-clear.You'll get lost in the action, instead of asking other people in the room what the characters just said! Prepare to be transported into movies and music. It is the ultimate home theater goal!

This is not a center channel for the faint of heart, though: it's monsterous! In order to replicate the cabinet volume of the M60s (important for creating similar-sounding bass response), we had to go big-big-BIG! And if the size wasn't enough, we added two of our signature vortex ports to give you even more great bass detailing. You will never miss a word again!

Center channels transmit the lion's share of the dialog in a movie or 5.1-channel television broadcast, and the best center channel speakers match your existing front left-and-right channel's drivers - the woofers, tweeters and midranges that make up a speaker. The VP160's driver configuration is the exact replication of the M60, creating an open, spacious, seamless sound that pans across the front of your room smoothly, enveloping you in luscious sound.

The VP160 cabinet is flat on the bottom side and tapered back on the top.  The flat bottom works perfectly if your VP160 is right below or above your TV.    If your VP160 is going to be well below the TV you may want to choose the inverted version available in Customize Yours at no extra cost.  This will angle your VP160 upwards slightly pointing it at the listening position.  The VP160 can be shelf-mounted, placed in a cabinet, or you can place it on our dedicated center channel stand your screen.

Hear everything with the VP160 - audition it in your home theater with our 30-day in-home trial. Includes a five-year warranty on the standard model/ 10-year warranty on the high powered version, and free shipping!

The VP 160 just came in. Oh boy is this thing huge.

Got it hooked up and for now all I can say is DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had my daughter come in to listen for a minute. Like me she said what seemed like a hole in the middle is now filled.

Got my VP160 yesterday. Yep, it is big, I guess everyone knew that. Well it sounds big too.
I started by setting up the center at the place I had my old one (not an Axiom). First it sounded ok, I checked the level and it appeared lower that the M80s so I up the dB, but the sound was not the same as the M80s just listening to the white noise generator, so I decided to rerun the Audissey XT32 on my Integra DTR70.2. Woahhh, the difference was amazing it sounded just like the M80s. The audissey cross them at 40Hz like the M80s.
The movies sounded great (crisp, clear and loud), but I have to say that what I am completely amazed off, was the ability to play Music in 7.1 Dolby Pro Logic II. I never really liked mode other than stereo, and I have to say now that with the voice coming from an amazing center channel, the music experience in DPLII is mind blowing almost bringing tears to my eyes. I will definitely listen to this mode from now on.
Thanks Axiom for this great piece, it was worth the wait!!!

I got mine today! I couldn't wait to hear it so admittedly, it's a bit of a jury rigged set up. You can compare the size with the VP100 above the TV. Holy crap, this thing is a beast! I sized the VP100 location to be able to upgrade to a VP150, but it looks like it may be time to build a new entertainment center.

I ran the Audessey set up and put in the Hell Freezes Over DVD by The Eagles. I think I finally get the 'sound stage' that everyone talks about. This center speaker is such a perfect match for the M60. It completely and seamlessly fills out the front. I don't feel like I need to bump up the center speaker any more. My first impression is that my money was well spent. This speaker has finally completed my system.

Thanks Axiom!!! You nailed it!

I love the sound most importantly which is why I'm a repeat customer and value for my dollar. Your service is second to none.

I watched The Eagles - Farewell Tour Melbourne DVD. I was able to listen to this DVD with a new enjoyment of their music. The bass is very strong during many of the songs on this DVD and the VP160 handled it with great ease, the highs from the trumpet during the encore just before Hotel California sounds very real to my ears, nice and clean.

I love these speakers. I bought my first set over a decade ago and just upgraded my center channel to the VP-160 from a first gen 150. Everything I read was correct, what a huge, huge difference. Bigger is better and not just loudness. It filled a gap I started to notice but did not realize how big of an improvement it would be. My other M60's and QS8's are still rocking
