Axiom Speakers #12 and #13!

Just arrived today, a pair of VaSSallo M3s, V3. Rosewood, Natural Stain, Piano Finish. The photos do not do them justice at all. They are absolutely gorgeous! They will be proudly displayed in the bar area, with the amp I built driving them.

I still want a pair of (any) Axioms in blue with a piano finish.

Thanks guys. They are so pretty I'm afraid to touch them!

I listened to them for 2 hours last night and I was really surprised with the amount of bass they put out. I was thinking I might have to add a sub down the road, but I won't need to. I have a pair of Algonquins, but I never played them inside the house. The extra bass that the room reinforcement provides is amazing. As far as the amp goes, I still have it mounted on it's temporary test bed. A friend of mine volunteered to make an wooden enclosure for me, but I was waiting for the speakers to arrive so we could match the rosewood more closely. For now though, it works and sounds wonderful.

How big is the room, Steve?

I've always assumed that I would still want a sub with M3s, but maybe not(?)

I tested them out in a 15'x18' room.

I'll be setting them up tonight in their "permanent" spot which will be the main area of the basement. This area is L shaped and is about 40'x30' at the longest dimensions.

Nice! I've wanted M3s for awhile, even though I have satisfactory speakers everywhere already. But I wasn't sure that if I put them in a bigger room like my studio, I wouldn't feel the need for a sub.

I just set them up in the larger room. There was a decrease in bass, but not enough for me to say I need a sub. Actually, the sound is wonderful.

Ahhh, brings back fond memories of when my Dad got his rosewood M3's. Truly works of art.
