HG Rosewoods Part 3
Another upgrade. Axiom has a new Rosewood so I've upgraded my speakers at the same time as changing the finish. The only speakers that I have now from my original system are my 2 M80's serving duties as my A side surrounds.
So now my system is composed of:
Fronts: LFR's V3 (can be classified as V4) Center: VP180 V4 Side surrounds: A - M80's V2 B - QS8's V4 Rear surrounds: QS8's V4 Front Subwoofers: EP800's V4 Rear Subwoofer: EP500 V4
Powering 1 LFR and the VP180: Axiom ADA1500-8 Powering 1 LFR and 1 rear surround: Axiom A1400-8 Powering the rest of the surrounds: Denon POA-A1HDCI Pre Pro: Denon AVP-A1HDCI Monitor: 60" Pioneer Kuro PRO-141FD Universal player: OPPO BDP-83 Telus Optic TV Apple TV
Shoot me if I think about any more upgrades. I've also got to think about what I should do with my M80's. Upgrade, leave them as is or get rid of them.
Mel

I chatted with the guys at the cork house and they did mention that a floating floor will have some give to it. The up side is it's very easy to install.
As for the floor moving when the subs are a rockin.. is that a really bad thing. Lets you know that they are working well.
Anthem: AVM60, Fosi DAC-Q5 Axiom: ADA1500, LFR1100 Actiive, QS8, EP500, M3, M3comp, M5

I drawback of the cork is if you're moving the EP800's around without help they will gouge into the cork. Don't ask me how I know that.

Hey Onn, I'm 10 minutes from you. Shoot me a pm next time you are moving those around and I'll give you a hand. Save your flooring at least! They all look awesome btw.

I made some more changes to my system this weekend.
My A1400-8 was on it's last legs with channels starting to crash on me.:( My ADA1500-8 just didn't sound "right". The front sound stage was lacking in comparison with my surrounds. I couldn't figure out why it made my LFR's sound passive. It joined my A1400-8 in the basement.
Replacements are 3 Crown XLS2500 amps One for each LFR and the third for the centre.
I also have intermittent problems with one of my EP800's (clicking noises).
Done for now I hope.

Ouch. Sorry to hear of your issues. I'm surprised about your ADA1500. Let us know how the Crowns work out.

Why would you not warranty a $5000 amplifier. I need to move to Alta and make some of that big oil sands money Did you mean your repurposed it?? There is a 5 year warranty with the Axiom amps. This is the second one I have used since the first one started smoking once I started using it. My current ADA is starting to collect dust with my A1400-8 in the basement. I could send it back to Axiom to see if they can find anything wrong with it and that may happen soon. I might send it back with my EP800 that's having issues. The Crown amps are working great so far. Slightly better than my A1400. To my ears at least.

I'm just teasing ya. I cant imagine the frustration when things just don't sound right. Axiom is pretty accommodating im sure they will work with you. If not I do accept charity
