A friend from work has been considering getting a HT setup, so I of course mentioned this site. After a few weeks of checking out the product pages and reading the boards, he started asking some more detailed questions about how they sound so I invited him to come over and demo my m60’s (stereo only) so he could hear for himself. Since he’s an Eagles fan, the first track we listened to was Hotel California off of the Hell Freezes Over CD (Great CD btw). We started off with the volume pretty low; maybe -40db on the H/K 3480, and he really seemed to enjoy the detail. They he asked how well do they sound when you play them loud? Loud or LOUD I asked?  I handed him the remote and told him to crack it as loud as he’d like. We got up to about -5db which on my system I’d define as “Holy Crap, that’s really loud!” Afterwards, he said that he couldn’t believe how clear the sound was without a hint of distortion. We listened to tracks off of several other CD that he had brought over and then switched to The Matrix on DVD. Even though I only have the m60’s (no sub, surround, center), we were both very impressed with how great the famous lobby scene sounded. Needless to say he’s hooked and now is trying to find a way to gain the WAF to purchase a 5.1 system.

Anyway, I just wanted to post since this was the first time I’ve been able to share how well these speakers sound with someone else who obviously appreciates them as much as I do. It was a real pleasure.

Now I just need to add the remaining speakers for a full home theater setup. Maybe if I’m good, Santa will bring me them for Christmas.
