frzoll, I have a set of QS8's on the back wall, and was initially underwhelmed when I first got them as well. There was nothing I could do about position, plus, I was used to direct firing surrounds. As a result, I was running the Q's really "hot". (Quite a bit louder than they should have been) Not long after, it became too distracting so I turned them back down. Now I couldn't imagine going back to a DF surround. Rain and wind are frighteningly real. And they do light up when a "hard" pan or effect is SUPPOSED to happen.
