You may recall a series of posts, several months ago, discussing peak versus average power. The bottom line was that the peak power requirement may be 20-25 times the average power requirement.
Transistors/ power FETs just don't like to be surged, so, quite often, their peak power handling is not a whole lot higher than their average power handling if properly heat sinked.
This has caused me to think that you may need 200+ watts of peak power for your fronts and center. Rears/ surrounds most probably need much, much less.
If I was buying a seperate amp, I just wouldn't go for anything less than 200 Watts.
