I would say you'll have to experiment with different types of music/movies and see what you think. Most people that have AVR's with the built in setup and eq options have found the the setup portion that addresses dB levels and distance (delay) is pretty accurate. With my Denon 2805 the EQ portion gave my m60's to much midrange, so I leave that turned off. I also followed up with my SPL meter to verify the dB levels and distance, and it was pretty close...
