If you were to use a different brand of speaker, it would most likely be an audible difference.

I decided to get with M3 centres for M22 mains (for reasons of comparison for my future studio) and asked Alan about the differences that I would hear. He stated that only in carefull A/B testing with certain types of music (not movies) would I be able to tell a difference between the M22 mains and the M3 centres because their mid range is essentially the same.

In short, if you stick with an Axiom speaker with their high end tweeters and woofers, you won't have a problem matching your M22s.
