I have an EP 500 V2 subwoofer.

I downloaded some DTS audio CD tracks and was able to play it on my DVD player. I select the surround to be in DTS. The front panel shows all 5 speakers and LFE (sub). I did this to check my surround sounds and subwoofer.

The thing is, I can barely hear the subwoofer, even at max volume, their are only little bit of output coming out of it.

I am not sure if it has to do with the SPL's because I have a klipsch subwoofer somewhat close to it, and it pumps out a lot of bass.

I set all the speakers to small, and put the crossover to 100 hz even. The LFE is on with the receiver also. The subwoofer volume on the receiver is not set to low or high, at default setting.

I have the coxial cable coming from line in to the LFE output of my receiver.

Whats going on? This also happened to me with my previous HT subwoofer which had very little sound coming from it even at max volume.

edit:

I think the problem may be from the receiver. It is a harmon kardon AVR 7000 receiver. I one time connected a sub to it few years back with that receiver and still received very little bass output.
