Just encountered with an excellent series of
papers by Floyd Toole and others, now at the acoustics research division of Harman International (JBL/Infinity/Revel). These papers satisfy the curiosity of the technically inclined, but without using too much techie jargons. Very accessible language and lots of excellent diagrams/illustrations. Also answers some of the debates previously exchanged in this forum.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the name, Dr. Toole is a former director of the Canadian NRC acoustics research group, whose early studies contributed to the foundation of many Canadian loudspeaker brands (and so-called "Canadian school of speaker design"), including Axiom.
