A friend of mine recommended pillars but I didn't know that they come in wood, I've only seen them "plastic" looking. I will definitely be looking into that.

I saw them at rona or home depot can't remember which one as I am at both places 3 or 4 times a week lately cant seem to remember everything I need, sometimes it's 3 to 4 times a day.
luckily in regina it's only 10 min. to anywhere.
as for using them for dancing poles they work great
maybe you should just leave them the way they are.
