So my parents rented Death Proof and wanted to watch it on my system. I knew it was going to be a mistake, as Tarantino is really kind of pushing it with them, and, as I guessed, it didn't take long before my dad became unimpressed with the dialogue. They ended up leaving about halfway through the movie, but I, of course, finished watching.

I actually liked it pretty well. I can see why a lot of people can't stomach Tarantino, but I think they can be a bit dismissive. I like his writing, and I find it well-thought out, and he really knows how to milk his scenes for effect. Say what you will, but he knows how to craft memorable scenes.

While the style is intentionally lo-fi, I found myself enjoying the audio quite a bit. And you know how I was thirsting for some nice engine sounds? Well, this movie had some. And of course Tarantino's musical choices add a lot to the feel.

Anyway, fun stuff! Especially if you're not my parents.
