Welcome from another Canadian in NYC (on and off for the past 10 years). Nice space, and you seem to have enough irregular surfaces and the like that I don't think you need worry about the M60s sounding too forward or "in your face." The big space and high ceilings (I think I spotted some beams up there as well) should break up the reflections enough that you'll get a nicely uniform tonal balance.

You could always add a few area rugs later on if you wanted to increase absorbancy.
