I tried it when I was trying all sorts of things (QS8/M3 combos and stuff). I thought it would be a good idea, but it did not sound right; it was too "present". In the sense that I could hear the speaker instead of the "backstage".

But, that being said, feel free to try! Maybe just don't mount it right away! ;\)
