Eventually I want to get the QS8’s for the sides to achieve the 7.1 sound, but for now, I am only doing the 5.1. Here a couple of pictures of my current set up and why I have to stick to the corners for speaker placement. I just want to make sure I will not do myself a disservice by putting M22’s in the back corners instead of the QS8’s. Thoughts?
Are you gonna be going to 7.1 in this same room? Because you'd be better off with QS8s on sides [5.1 is generally to either side of the listening seats, 7.1 adds rears for discrete rear sound effects (which are still uncommon). You'd be just as well off with M2s as M22s. Not much is really req'd back there] and then add QS to either side of the dining room doorway for 7.1 (if ever).
Even if you need to mount the rears/sides in the corners, I'd think the QS would work, but you'd still need the mount as they obviously wouldn't be flush mounted.
