What's amusing are the uninformed comments seen sometimes even from professional reviewers implying or stating outright that the material from which the tweeter is constructed is determinative of the sound character. This is seen in comments that titanium domes result in "bright" or even "metallic" highs. In reality the crossover controls how strong the treble is relative to the rest of the frequency range and anything much stiffer than a wet noodle can be made to sound "metallic".
