Is it a valid test of the amp's power to compare the volume output based on the displayed gain setting of two different receivers? I don't know the answer myself, it just seems that a lot of different variables could play into that effect. (just one for example, the Denon's auto-room calibration that boosts certain frequencies and dampens others to produce the smoothest response in-room)
