As for subwoofers, buy two. Place them not in the corners of your room but against oppisite walls-one at half the width and one at half the length of your room. If you can, raise them off the ground on a shelf so the center of the woofer cone sits exactly midway between ceiling and floor. Your bass response will be much smoother and have more impact.
I've gotta' run now - must place order for another HSU VTF-3 and then I'm off to Home Depot for those giant "sub shelfs", then I'll have to think of a good story to tell the wife and then......
