Believe it or not the best decision they can make is to not buy the Bose...for sure. SVS has some outstanding speaker packages which includes their well known subs. My son was in the same position and I tried to steer him toward SVS. He decided on BIC though for his apartment.
We just had another couple over this evening; i think they were the 7th or 8th crew of people in 6 years to audition our setup.
They had enough air miles to 'buy' a Bose system free but still wanted to hear it first so they ventured into a Future Shop store a few weeks ago.
Long story short, they were at our place tonight for 3 hours listening to alternate ideas.
Bose is no longer on the radar, not even remotely.
Axioms are likely their next purchase.
