The 2802 is not just 10W more in power. I believe its amp section is better as well. If I were you, I would go with 2802 because of the 6.1 feature that should last you a couple more years before upgrading.

On the other hand, the 1802 has a pre-out which should enable you to hook it up to an out-board piece and improve the sound if you're sure that you won't be needing the 6.1. But try watching Gladiator with 6.1 before making your decision, you may like it.

In short, the 1802 is powerful enough to push the Axiom's you have in mind, given the sensiblity rating of these speakers. You may also want to look at the review of 1802 conducted by the editor of "cheaphometheater.com".
