Yes G, the Dutoit is one of the Planets I have and I just re-checked the passages you referred to( I'm sure that you mean the organ entries at 8:01 and 9:07 on track 5)on two different systems. I was able to get some sense of the weight of the organ even on my M22s played without a sub, however if I turned up the volume to increase the effect, the distortion or bottoming was significant. A sub gave the full effect with satisfying weight and clarity. I don't have an M80 and of course I can't be sure of what you mean by "handle", but my general thought is that even a speaker which has bass as good as the M80 can be helped significantly in passages such as these by a good sub crossed over at about 80Hz and well-situated, probably in a corner. I would wonder how your friend had his M80s and EP350(?)set up.
