There is technology to deliver 3D images without having to wear glasses using a lenticular screen, but there are compromises with that approach as well. One of the demos I saw worked quite well so long as you sat directly in front of the screen in the sweet spot. As you moved off to one side or the other, the 3D effect mostly disappeared.

Here is a link to a very complex technique developed by Mitsubishi that eliminates that problem but the complexity and cost would rule it out for consumer development.
