I think I'm going to go with the TC P42X1. Best Buy has it on sale for $600. It is 720P, but for a 42" secondary TV I don't see the need to spend extra for 1080, especially since I don't expect to have more than a 720P input (cable) as a source going to it. Any Blu-Ray would still be done on the downstairs TV.
I'm also looking at this tv. Let me know how HD content looks with cable/sat. I know you said that it isn't for Blu-Ray, but if it's not too much trouble to hook it up, I would like hear your opinion.
