I have found that when I setup my own stations and add my own artists to that station, it will eventually play them, but usually you have to listen to other "similar" artists. You can give a "thumbs down" to any artist you don't want to hear, and yours might come up nest.

Agreed. I haven't listened to Pandora since the US decided it was a threat to National Security to let it stream music outside it's borders but as I recall, that was the whole purpose. Put in the name of a band you like and it will play music of very similar types, but not necessarily the band you picked. I guess if can now put multiple bands into a single channel selection, one of those bands could trigger another to appear if they are of similar styles.
