I grew up in VA and went to school in Charlottesville right around the time that DMB was getting big.

This reminds me of the private cd release party that DMB threw for some folks in C'Ville for the release of Crash. They held it at Trax, which has capacity of around 700 people. Needless to say, it was an incredible experience. I also recall that, for the price of your $15 ticket, you got a copy of the cd, admission to the show and a signed 17 X 11 lithograph of the album cover art.

They've certainly come a long way, no doubt reaping a multi-million dollar pay-day from PhilMo.

I say good for them. It's capitalism, after all. And besides, it's not like they gave up playing a free show in Central Park to do this show. It was likely this, or sitting at home doing nothing.
