When your dealing with any outdoor speaker it is always best to find a spot where there is at least some protection from some of the direct elements (wind, sun, rain/snow). More protection, better longevity.

According to what has been stated in the past, listening to the speakers in the extreme cold (-20+ degrees Celsius) could cause the viscosity of the ferro-fluid in the tweeter to change which could cause a loss in clarity (duller sound) temporarily.
