Agreed, vp150, qs8s, m60s. By the time you start thinking you really need those other two channels you should have the money to buy them. And then they'll go with your (already very sweet) set. Consequently, that's the arrangement I have and I am very happy with it. I don't feel that I'm missing anything from the absent channels, and I'm very happy with the sound from the ones I do have.

I would stick with the 7.1 receiver, especially if you do intend to pick up the rear speakers down the road, this way you won't need to replace that as well. Even if you find yourself content with the 5.1 you could run 2 speakers over to the office area or something. And I would stick with the m60s, although for no particular reason other than they rock and I love mine.
