Lets face it, they get faster and larger (capacity) every year and like lemmings we go out and buy new ones. I don't know what the real life expectancy is of them, so I ask.

What do you do with your collection of old USB flash drives?

I am sure that all my really small 125m ~ 1gb ones have long been thrown out. But I still have quite a few 4 and 8gb units.

Now they in a sense could be used. But when a new USB3 16gb drive costs less than $10, would a slow usb2 drive that has about enough space to hold a DVD really be worth having?

So you decide to toss them? Are there any places / people who might find them useful? Or just toss into the garbage (yet your supposed to recycle for ethical disposal for the chemicals inside).
