That's the best thing about this forum. We all have our advice...its up to the poster to choose their favorite. Mine is based on not having a wall for his left surround in a 7.1 setup. So the options are: In ceiling side surrounds, floor standing posts for side surrounds or ceiling brackets for side surrounds. Otherwise his initial thought of 5.1 will work if he mounts his surrounds on the rear wall.
