I'm not a fan of this idea, since my TV is a 25' HDMI cable away from my devices. I'd rather just have one HDMI cable going to the TV rather than two different one going to the TV, then one going back to the AVR for the Xbox Series X's audio. And that's if I just end up with the Series X. I'll simply wait for a pre-pro/AVR that is proven to do what it needs to. I'm also not sure what gives you confidence that eARC implementation will be consistent and headache-free.
