Blackfield - (self-titled) I just got this album this week, 3 weeks before the U.S. release. I must say that it's an immediate hit. My only critique would be that it's only 36 min. Sorry I'm not use to such short song lengths. If I could here music THIS good, then I might consider listening to the radio. [/end rant] Anyway, for those of you familiar with Porcupine Tree, especially their more mellow songs, you'll love Blackfield. Blackfield is a side project Steven Wilson's with Aviv Geffen (from Israel) and as I said it's mellower and with a rather dark tinge. Incredibly well written songs. As good as it sounds in stereo on the Axioms, I really wish they could make a DVD-A or SACD of this one like they did with In Absentia. The production of this one is just SO absorbing and dreamlike.
