Sounds like the reviewer may not have set up his receiver levels using an SPL meter. When I first hooked my system up the levels were way off when all were set to 0db. I poped in the "Avia" DVD and started running the tests. About 45 minutes later I had everything tweaked in. For my aplication the VP-100 works perfectly. I agonized over the VP-100 vs. VP-150 decision for weeks. Finally Alan said that for my room size (13.5' X 13.5') the VP-100 would be fine. He was right. There is no "tinny" sound in my HT room.

As some of the other folks on the board recommended, you have 30 days to decide if you like it.
