My EP175 is side-firing, the STF-2 is downward firing. The EP175 simply doesn't have the same extension, so I don't know if it's a fair comparison. But the STF-2 definitely shakes the house more.

Didn't the VTF-3s used to be side-firing? Seems like there was someone on this board who had a regular VTF-3 and then swapped to a rosewood VTF-3 MK 2. That would be an interesting comparison.
