My old Sony is the 595 model, just a simple, low powered DD/DTS reciever. I know the Athena's aren't bad speakers. My local hi-end dealer (who carries NAD, PSB, Grado, Totem, Naim, Tannoy, etc.) used to carry the Athena line before Best Buy bought out Future Shop in Canada. Once Athena's started being displayed in BB he couldn't have something that you can buy in any old B&M store. He told me that for the new, budget-minded (very budget-minded) audiophile, Athena's were the way to go. But, PSB was his favorite price/performance speaker line. I wanna compare the two to get an idea of how much of an improvement you get for double the price.
