Joe, I was using a Sony Remote Commander RM-AV3000 before I switched to the MX-700 (Ray beat me severely about the head and shoulders until I bought one
).
The Sony is a VERY good remote. But, the MX-700 is just so easy to program (once you get the hang of it), so ergonomically comfortable, and so versatile, that I can't believe it. It is the one piece of equipment I own, that I feel comfortable recommending without reservation. The only qualm I have is that the programming, at first, can seem a bit daunting. But once learned, it's a breeze.
