You might 1) call Denon, 2) search the net to see if there is a similar issue and a fix and 3) call Crutchfield.

It would be a shame if you needed to return the thing for another. If so, I'd absolutely pound on Crutchfield for a "same price/even exchange" replacement. Aside from "parts missing", they do guarantee it will play. Would also be worthwhile to have Denon repair it.

Given the (usual) quality of the unit and the unbelieveable price you paid for it. It is worthwhile to try and figure out how to keep it or get it fixed/replaced. Worst case - keep it for the movies, DVD-A and SACD.
