Whoa, you don't know what you just set off with that question

Depends on what you mean by "better". General consensus is that the 60s are a bit more accurate and have a bit more "clarity" due to the extra midrange driver, while the 50s sound a bit more "relaxed" and are more tolerant of so-so recordings. Look up the "BBC dip" if you want to get really confused... that's not quite the same as the 50/60 difference (BBC dip is a dip in on-axis response, 50/60 difference is a dip in the same range due to weaker off-axis response by the 6.5" driver) but the idea seems to be pretty much the same.

Best guess is that sitting close you wouldn't be able to hear the difference, and as you got further away and reflected off-axis sound became more of a factor you would start to hear a slight difference between the two.

The difference is supposed to be pretty subtle.
