i wish i had some great words of wisdom to give you to swing you either way. but to be honest, i think both sets of speakers have the ability to be very good. i have read the reviews of the Aperion 522's, and they seem excellent. and, i havent actually heard the M3's, but i have throughly tested the discontinued M1ti's, and i was absolutely amazed at the clarity, and sheer amount of sound that came from these small speakers. i could only assume that the M3's are even that much better.
i think this will really come down to a price point, and what sort of sound your ears prefer. at least with the axioms, you have a 30 day return policy, not sure what the aperions have? if you get the M3's and dont like them, you can always return them and only have to pay for shipping. obviously, you are on the axiom board, so it would make sense that we would tell you to get the axioms.. but, i could see either pair getting the job done for you.
factor in price, and return policy, and just make the best decision you can. i think these are just 2 good pairs of speakers, and you will be pretty well off with which ever you choose!
