I need recommendations on how to mount the VP150 center below a fixed front projection screen.

Can/should it be wall mounted, or do you prefer a speaker stand. The stand gives the advantage of placing the speaker a bit in front of the screen (more in line with the fronts), and higher (into the masking frame of the screen, where I would have to be below the frame if wall mounted).

Thanks for your valuable input.

Dave.

In line with the fronts would be my first choice of those given.

Alan Lofft suggests

"How to Create a Seamless Soundstage

Got a problem getting a smooth, seamless soundstage from your left main speaker across the centre channel to the right speaker? Does much of the image seem collapsed into the centre? First, carefully adjust the centre-speaker distance and level in your receiver's setup menu. Many enthusiasts run the centre too loud. Adjust the centre level loud enough so dialogue intelligibility doesn't suffer, but no louder. Try placing your main speakers so their front panels are even with the centre channel, with the centre channel further back, if possible (wall-mounting it behind the TV is another alternative). If the three main channels form a gentle arc facing your couch, with the centre speaker the furthest away, you should experience a significant improvement in the forward soundstage. "

I've wall mounted my centre channel just above the wall mounted screen using the FMB and pointed the channel down towards the listenning position.

FYI the quote above is from one of the many informative pieces Alan has produced for the Axiom newsletter (see link at the top-right of the page).

Build a stage out of 2x8's like I did for below your screen. All my speakers will be placed on the stage.
