A test you might try is isolate the center and sub, in other words, disconnect everything else and see which sounds better. If I was a betting man, that is laughable, I would bet that it sounds better being crossed over and not getting full range.

I find my M3 as center sounded great crossed at 80hz in my old system without a sub, but as soon as the sub was reintroduced into the system, a voice component found its' way through the sub....very annoying

When I got the new system running, I found the same thing.....voices thru the sub at 80hz, but no voices at 60

Howdy.

RatPack - did you get your testing done.
I finally have my system ready to go and want to do some proper setups with my new Axioms.

So far I am thinking all SMALL and XOver at 60.
Bass out to SUB via LFE.

Tarun,

I would suggest testing you mains as large and small. Also test separately as stereo and dvd. I sometimes change mine depending on source.

No, sorry, I haven't done it yet. It may be this weekend before I get a chance to play around.

Here is my current settings...

M80's large xover at 60
VP150 small xover at 100
QS8 small xover at 100

I've played around with different settings once in awhile but this is where they are most of the time.

I set all of my speakers to small. I think this makes it easier for my amplifier to power all 5 speakers. Without having to reproduce the lower bass frequencies there should be plenty of reserve power for the peaks in music/movies, let the amplifier in the sub do all the heavy work with the bass.
