I am in the process of hooking up this giant beast. Whoever said it was heavy wasn't lying. Good Lord!!! Anyway I have it hooked up and it sounds amazing, better than my denon 3805, and my elite 54tx. Lots of modes actually worth listening to.
One of the main reasons I bought this was the Faroujda DCDI video processing but when I have the receiver set on DVD or and I turn on the processor it turns the picture on my plasma into a small box about 12"x12" and that box is lime green tint. Or if I have it on satelite the pic looks normal but when I do the on screen display (OSD) menu THAT turns the screen the same as the DVD 12x12 and lime green but only with the faroujda on. When it's off the picture is fine and the OSD is fine.
I have everything hooked up as per the directions using component video and all video sources are upconverted straight to the plasma. So please avr 7300 owners could I get some insight, I would truly appreciate any help you could offer.

Max

Did you buy this unit refurb .... by any chance?
If so...then you may be in for a surprise.
I had similar issues with the on screen display and had to go through one other unit.

No it's not refurbished. The OSD works perfectly, except when I turn on the Faroujda DCDI. Maybe I don't have something hooked up right? But I can't imagine any other way to hook it up. I thought about maybe changing to a different input on my elite plasma, but I don't know. Any other help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

This is all I have seen on the subject, but it does not mention the lime green 12" x 12" screen. http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=699&page_number=2&preview=

This is not a simple feature, but it is a powerful and potentially beneficial one, particularly for systems with older sources like a VCR or laserdisc player. And one big fringe benefit of the AVR 7300's video processing is simple and universally useful: it not only upscales both composite- and S-video sources to component video, but it also sends all onscreen menus and displays to the component output (as well as the others). That lets you make just one connection to your TV, vastly simplifying not only setup but everyday use. Unfortunately, the onscreen displays don't show up when the incoming material is 480p or higher.

Ok. I actually think it has something to do with my plasma. Because I just noticed that my dvd player (sony 999es) was not set on progressive. When I set it to progressive on the dvd OSD and the progressive setting on the back of the dvd unit itself the same darn thing happened. Changed the screen to about 12"x12" and a green tinted screen. I'm using component cables, what the heck is the deal? I am thoroughly confused now. Thanks for the help people.
I may list this as a new issue altogether in a new post.
