If you have not already done so, go over to Audioholics.com and read the latest review on the Epic 80 w/EP600. They give very high marks to the system in a couple of different configurations.

I'm not very good at this stuff so I don't know if the link will be active.

yeah I read it this morning while listening to my new vp150/qs8's..ironic.
Good review, welll deserved, and I agree with pretty much everything. Even the point he made about the screens being too flimsy.

I even boost the treble a little on some material!! I must have upper frequency hearing loss, eh!
Any more reviews like those and the price is going to go up. Damn I am smart for buying these speakers.

Sorry, John. I have no complaint if someone finds the Axiom sound is not for them, and says so. But when they describe that sound as "ear bleeding" bright, they are simply trying to justify their subjective opinion by applying derogatory objective terminology to the speakers themselves.
The reviewer stated "I would characterize what I heard from the Axiom system as big, bold, aggressive, revealing, and slightly forward of neutral in its presentation." I find that a fair, reasonable and accurate description of the Axiom sound. More importantly, he made it clear that this decsription was AS HE HEARD IT. YMMV.

Very nice review. Halfway through it I was trying to figure out how I could get my hands on an Epic 80 system. Must resist. . .

Why did this thread have to come out right after I ordered the 60's? That's OK shut that little voice in my head up! Shut up, shut up, shut up! Oh yeah... by the way.
Congratulations Axiom!

Quite the opposit, it gets louder and louder. It happened to me once. Then all of the sudden an ep500 showed up and the voice went away.

Have to agree with them on their review of the vp150.
"The VP-150 sounded smooth, rich, and natural, though at times also slightly recessed."
This has been my only disappointment with my axiom setup...the vp150 has let me down. Not saying its a bad speaker, just that it did not live up to the rest of the set.
Very good review overall I'd say.

Makes you wonder if the same drivers in a larger, ported or unported, enclosure would make the difference.

I'm holding out for the as-yet-nonexistent VP250 -- the M60 drivers repackaged in a big ugly box with mid and tweeter arranged vertically between the woofers

And I'm holding out for a slightly simpler design: Just two 6.5s and a tweet!
Match just right with my M50s

Maybe we could get Axiom to renumber the center channels :
VP22 -- 2 woofs and a tweet
VP33 -- 3 woofs and 2 tweets
VP50 -- 2 6.5" woofs ported and a tweet
VP60 -- same but with a midrange
VP80 -- same but two mids, and two tweets
Bigfoot ? Hah... I SPEET on Bigfoot...

Ya got MY vote!!
Ian and Amie; the checks in the mail
Ah Ha!....Then the M3 as center would be replaced with the VP50; the two M3s as surrounds replaced with M50s; and the new in-walls(like the M3s)all the way in the back for 7.1
YES!!!
Make that a very large check!!
