Thanks everyone.
bray -- I have a (2) PMs into you but not sure if they went. It does not show up in my sent items. PM me your email address and we can talk that way.
mwc -- thank you also for the offer. I'll stop by brays 1st and see how it goes, then get in touch with you if all "sounds" well.
EDIT: Looks like I needed to check a box to have it show up in sent items -- thanks bridgman.

I've been the bray's home. You're in for a treat. He's got a real sweet setup there and he makes good coffee too.

mwc,
I wanted to ask you how the M22ti's are working as your surrounds.
I am in a quandry because I plan to put my speakers in custom made columns (speaker material on sides and front). However, since the QS8s shoot up and down, it might cause issues being inside the column.
The main purpose of the QS8s is to make the sound "more" omni-directional so the room feels larger. Using M22tis would solve my problem -- but they are more directional (vs the QS8s).
How are they working for you? How far is your listener from this speakers? How high do you have them (say to the bottom of the speaker)? Are you happy with the results? Do you ever wish you bought QS8s instead?
Thanks,
Steve

I'm very happy with the M22s as surrounds. I originally bought them to serve as mains and used them for about a year as mains (I used to change speakers a lot...upgradeitis, you know). IMO, the M22s are excellent speakers and compare favorably to speakers costing many times more.
I've heard the QS8 in action and for movies they do a little better job at creating the illusion of space and ambiance than the M22s. But if I had a choice, I would use the QS8s for movies and the M22s for multi-channel music. To my ears, the QS8 tended to sound a little "phasy" with multi-channel music but not unbearably so.
My surrounds are positioned slightly behind the main listening position about 6' on the left and about <7' on the right. I have them positioned above ear level so that they are not easily localized and to give the illusion of being more omni-directional. I'm quite happy with this setup.
I live the life I love and I love the life I live.
