If there was a prize to be had I'd suggest a tune by Pure Prarie League as my all time favotite.

Wow, too many to choose from, I usually don't have a specific song. I'm often cycling through too many new cds so normally it is a newer one that gets cranked up.
If i had to pick, i'd probably say one of the following: Train in Vain - the Clash (or anything by them) Song #2 - Blur Corduroy - Pearl Jam (all pretty much anything by them)

I'll see Sid's Train in Vain and raise him Straight To Hell by the Clash.
Also, Tilted - Sugar Whiskey in the Jar - any version any Meat Puppets cover off Unplugged in New York (Plateau, Lake of Fire, Oh Me) - Nirvana !Paranoia Cha Cha Cha! - Soviettes Toys - Epoxies Saturday Night - Misfits Just a few I've noticed over the last little while. Bren R. |

Do any other Canucks cue up channel 904 on the Bell Satellite? Whiskey in the Jar comes on that channel a lot and it always stops me in my tracks since I only remember singing it at smoky pubs in Ireland, not on the dance floor this side of the pond. Nothing stopped me as hard as Paul Anka's new version of Eye of the Tiger, though - I'm still scarred from that experience.

Bren,
nice call on the Clash and some Nirvana in there too (though I find the originals as enjoyable - many certainly would not! ![]() Amie, any idea what channel 904 is on the Bell? I know they've got a Winnipeg station on Expressvu and they essentially have 10 songs on repeat all day - Metallica's Whiskey in the Jar is usually one of them.

My vote goes to the originals as well. Meat Puppets II is a classic. And while I do actually understand that "Whiskey in the Jar" goes back much farther than Thin Lizzy, they get my vote for the definitive version.
