I'll be able to purchase my center next week. Do I need the VP125? or can I live with a VP100?
Currently I have M22Ti fronts and (4)Qs8 surrounds. Is the VP1050 too much to match up with the fronts that I have? Should I save the hundred bucks and just get the VP100? Has anyone heard both of them? Or have one of them that they can comment on?

I have a VP150 with my M22s and I don't regret it for a second. I've not heard the VP100, but I'm glad I spent the extra cash initially and didn't have to wonder about whether I should step up later on.

Thanks for the fast response. I was leaning to the VP150 incase I was to upgrade all my speakers in the future. But I wasnt sure if it would "out gun" my smaller M22Tis.

I have the VP100 paired with M60's and love it. At the time I would have purchased the VP150 however there wasn't a suitable location to place it above or below my t.v. Now that I have a new 50" Sony Grand Wega with matching stand the VP150 would fit perfectly in the stand. I would go for the VP150 if you can afford it.

How big is your room and what are you driving the system with?

Pushing the system with a Marantz SR8400. Room size is 10 x 20 with a 16' peaked ceiling in the center (awful I know) so around 2500 cubic ft.

I have had both the VP100 & 150. I had the 100 with M22s and my current M60s and it did great. No complaints. I sold it recently and upgraded to the 150 mainly because of aaarrrrgggghhhh...Upgraditis!!! I am so glad that I did. As I said, the 100 was fine but the 150 is louder, crisper and at least in my system, has a better soundstage. The 150 also seems to blend in better with the 60s. What I'm saying here is that, with movies, it's hard to tell which speaker the sounds are coming from, it's just all up front. I don't know if that's good or bad or what, but we love it at our house. Go with the 150 if you can although you will not be disappointed if you go with the 100.

Ditto what Rock Head said for me.
Buy the 150 if you can afford it and have a place to put it, but don't underestimate the quality of the VP100.

I currently have the VP100 and am quite happy with it's performance but it will be replaced by a 150 soon. If I only would have bought the 150 from jump street!

Based on the size of the room, I'm thinking the VP150, otherwise, you might get a disease many of us have had called upgradeitis
If money is an issue, you could always order from the Factory Outlet and save 10% off the regular prices.

The VP150 is an awesome center channel, it's got a ton of punch, standing close to it can actually slap you in the chest a little bit depending on what you're listening to
I love it.

If you have a wife/gf/partner that has, well, some skepticism about your HT hobby, my advice is this: Buy as big/expensive as you can when you can. Upgrades can become slow, convoluted labrynths of misinformation, sleight-of-hand and derring-do.
If you are unattached, my advice is this: buy as big/expensive as you can. Why go through the trouble of trading up later? Although there is always something new and shiny to trade up to anyway.

I think I am probably the only person who has ever posted this, but I am still not happy w/ my vp150. Had it in an apt, was not very pleased. Recently just hooked it up in an "almost finished basement" (pics in the HT forum), and had the same impression.
the m22's just seem like too much for it. Just my 2 cents on it.
