So, I've turned my bedroom into a shambles ... speaker cables, interconnects, trying to figure out which power cord goes with which component, but I've got sound!
I was going to put QS8s in the side surround position but, for the moment, I've changed my mind. Here's what's doing:
I picked up the Z-Lines 2354-5T from Circuit City, a very nice audio component rack
loaded it with 3 Yamaha M-80 (2 channel) amps and 1 Onkyo M-504 (thanks to scottcamera on ebay for picture)
So far I've hooked up the Ingegra RDC 9.4 processor to the big Onk amp and the Thiel CS 3.6s and the SVS 20-39.
Oh boy! What magnificent music this puts out.
Later today I'll put the Michaura M66s (Axiom M-50 like - same 6.5" drivers but with the .75" titanium tweeter from the former M2 line) in the side positions, Michaura M55s (M-22 like - same 5.25" drivers but again with .75" titanium tweeter) in the back surround positions and a highly modified Merak MC6H (Axiom made) center channel speaker.
I will say that the big Thiels are incredible speakers.
Here's what they look at (thanks to some guy on audiogon for the pix)
Will post pictures later, after the utter chaos of cables and parts is put away.

Interesting! I've never seen the Michauras before. I think you are going to have to show us pics when it's all set up for us to drool over!

I am sooooooooo jealous. I would love to hear the Thiel's some day.
On a side note, Z-line does indeed make some very nice audio-video equipment stands. For a good price as well.

i have heard Thiel speakers..and let me tell you...the soundstaging is second too...well.... NONE and i mean that. they are absolutely incredible, however, the ones i was listening to cost around 12000.00 cad...so they had better be all that and a bag of chips or i would be returning them awefully fast

OK, here're some pictures of the chaos of cables and components -
Michaura M66 in side surround position, M55s in back surround position.
Rack from bottom to top 3 Yamaha M80s, Onkyo M504, cable box atop 504, Integra Processor, Toshib SD9200 and Thiel CS 3.6 to the left (bad picture, sorry, I'll get some better ones.)

Those Michauras look great... like one of those "separated at birth" episodes.

Wow those Theils and the Michauras look great. I can't wait to see what your setup looks like all arranged and in a non-chaotic state. That sure is some nice equipment you have.

Destroy all cables!
It's set up but set up wrong. I used a little AAA battery to test which speaker wires go to which speakers but screwed it up, because I was lying on my stomache holding up a 55 lb amp with my left hand while manipulating the battery and wires with my right. I've got the side surrounds and back surrounds turned around.
The Michauras are right up there with the best looking speakers I've ever seen. They have hexagonal shaped cabinets which I think work even better than the whatever (trapezoid?) shape of the Axioms. The drivers should look familiar. I upgraded the caps and resistors with great big Jensen Paper/Oils and Caddocks of the original values.
I originally had the Thiels driven by the big Onk but decided to use the Onk for the side surround speakers and one of the Yamaha M80s for the Thiels. Maybe later this week I'll have a chance to fool with them again.
I'll report back. Thanks for the comments. Music is great, wires suck.
