Ok so i come to this place alot. why wouldnt i! but with the news that i heard axiom is only selling online, i think that this place needs a facelift. If i were a new customer that didnt know about axioms friendly faces and all the good stuff. I might be sceptical wouldnt you? I think it would be very intersting to see some stuff like, the axiom factory tour page, showing a step by step process of making the speakers and packaging etc. And what goes into the product, like the testing rooms and stuff. I dunno. but i think that would be pretty intersting.

ok.. maybe it was a bad idea. but i thought it was good! i always am intersted in seeing how things are made and how they work etc. id much rather look through a photo gallery of a factory in full tilt producing product than read through specs and stuff.

I like the idea of maybe seeing the staff photos, short factory tour pics (nothing too revealing of industry secrets) and the testing room (and the one at the NRC).
I do like the big popups of the new vinyl styles at least. Those little gifs were awful for looking at the larger colour.

I think that the site could use a facelift.

It is very plain looking at the moment, and unfortunately it makes it alittle unprofessional looking. I think axiom would benifiet greatly from a nice sharp professionally designed website. A factory tour page would also be very nice.

When I was looking around at different speaker manufacturers sites, axiom seemed to be the least visually appealing. Sites that I thought were well designed included Paradigm, Amperion Audio, Dynaudio, and SVS.

I disagree. I think that Axiom's site is a very clean design, and it's easy to find and check out all of the products. Also, there's no Flash, etc, so it's quick to load and run. I find SVS's site in particular difficult to navigate; there are no really quick links to product info. You have to drill down about 4-5 levels to get specs.

I wouldn't change the look of this site at all. So many others are dark, with high contrasting colors that make reading difficult (AVS Forum, Energy's website, etc...).

I have to back you up on that one, Ken. As someone who has experience designing websites, it is very good practice to have a fast-loading site with the most frequently accessed information available 1 to 2 clicks away. In other words, a site should be wide and not deep.

Any whizz-bang stuff you have on a site should serve a purpose other than to make it look cool. The products (and reviews) here speak for themselves.

My only suggestion would be to combine the "Store" and "Our Products" pages into one page. I find it confusing to have somewhat different information on two pages, both of which appear to serve the same purpose.

I too agree that the Axiom web site is one of the easiest-to-navigate among manufacturer web sites in general. If I were to do anything to it, I would expose more of the well-hidden-but-well-known pages by linking them to the home or category-top pages.

I must say that, among the AV manufacturer sites, one of the worst designed sites is that of VMPS -- their contents are quite interesting (whether or not you agree with their claims), but boy... the site is highly disorganized and unprofessional!

I guess I'm in the minority then with my opinion!

I do agree that the site is easy to navigate, and fast to load, but I still feel that you can retain these aspects with a more visually appealing design.

Yeah, I agree that the visual design of this site is "plain." But I've found that the details in its visual theme (you know, use of fonts, shades, layouts, and all that crap) is not really similar to anything else on the net. And I like it that way.

I'd agree that the site could use a little face lift. Nothing major, but it is awfully text heavy. Especially on the main home page. A few more graphic based images/text boxes could spruce things up a bit. Done right, a graphic image can look very nice, and still be a very small size file - so load times wouldn't suffer too much.

I do like the clean, straight forward look of the site though.

I also agree that the "store" and "products" areas should be combined into one. It seems very redundant.

Another thing that can be done is to beef up the product photo gallery, with larger photos of various angles as well as close-up photos of the drivers etc.

Pics of those custom finish/grill models that Amie just posted should be on the site as well!

Image quality doesn't matter. Why don't you post or link those pics here? I want to see them...

Of course she wouldn't have a problem. But even if she did, go ahead and post! HAHAHA...

So, you like disassembling the speakers?

OK well i took em apart and got a whole bunch of nice pics. got a few on my site. But before you proceed. be prepared. Because i had a horrible accident while putting the tweeter back in. Because the screws that are on the tweeter are a b it different than the rest and have a little bit different size, my allen wrench wouldnt stay locked into them. So like i said as i was putting it back on. the wrench flew off and landed right on the midrange cone ! well.. after seeing what had happened which was a small dent i said a few nice things to myself and procceded with extreme caution to prevent any further accidents... So now theres a little dent there. it looks worse than it does in the picture i put up but i guess i can live with it.lol Soo.. heres the link... I dont really like dissasembling them because its nerve racking trying not to leave the slightest mark that i was there but i must always see what i buy. Thats just me!

That was a very nice post with cool pictures on them. I've always wanted to know what the drivers looked like but never had the guts to open them up. Sorry about the dent though.

Thanks for the post.

Oh, ok, I'll back off a little. I would like to see pics of the back panels on the subs. I always find it informative to be able to look at pictures of connections on equipment, rather than just reading descriptions (if there even are any!)

My lack of originality has prevented me from coming up with a suggestion, but I agree that the overall appearance is just fine. I'd also agree with Jason that store and products could be combined, with Craig(on the finish thread)that the link to the custom finishes should be prominantly displayed, and with Ken that the back of the subs should be shown to illustrate the connections, etc.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

OK...now I know I'm being a little fussy, but I'm going to say it anyway.

In the "outlet" section of the site, why is it that the picture of the speaker is never of the color that is currently available. M60 available in cherry...black pictured. M22 available in black, cherry pictured...etc. There are SIX speakers available in the outlet, and only one of them has the proper picture.

I realize that on occasion there are more than one color available in the outlet, but usually there's only one.

Makes sense for them to match, no?

It's a marketing ploy to get you to buy the regular stock instead ;-)

Actually, it's a great point. On the list!

No. She's lying. In fact, it's her secret test of your information gathering/coordinating skills.

Well, it's been fixed now... That does help, actually. I wonder if they're going to show two different pictures when two finishes are available.

The question still remains: when are they going to let the general public see the custom finishes? Or are those just special for us?
