I have always liked Rotel and I want to add a Rotel Amp to power my system. I can't decide between the 1075 and the 1095. Would there be much of a sonic difference between the two?

Or, should I try Parasound? I have a hookup where I can get a used Halo A52 for a decent price. Would this be a better fit?

There are a lot of Rotel guys around here, and a few Halo Parasound owners (Tharkun's system rocks). Also, you may want to consider http://www.outlawaudio.com , there are many happy Outlaw folks around here as wall. What are you currently driving your system with? I have the Denon 2805 AVR and it has plenty of balls for the M60's

As for the Parasound Halos, I have been running four A21s, and a C2 processor since March of this year. They handle five M80s, two QS8s, and a pair of EP600s. The system runs at what most consider very high volume levels, and for long times. I have had no problems with the Halos and have been very happy with them.
Actually considering adding a second Halo set for the newAxiom W3s, so if you have a good price on a Halo I would recommend it.

Dennis, I didn't see prices on the Parasound website, are Halo's affordable compared to other Amps?

Audioadvisor.com is an online dealer, and has some good prices on 5.1 & 7.1 systems at times, which can save several thousand. Also sells both the Halo and Classic lines, the Classic line is the same build quality, same warranty, just less expensive than the Halo series, the Halo line being Parasound flagship series.

As for the cost of the Halos, if you compare apples to apples, I found that there was not much differance in price of the Halo line verses other top of the line amps/processors. Parasound has a five year parts labor/10year parts warranty, and has a reputation much like Axiom customer service.

The pictures on the web of the Halo line does not do them justice in my opinion, they relly need to be seen to appreciate the distinct chasis. As with my 80s I would not give up my Halos.

I own and really like the RMB-1075. Granted I've never owned the 1095, but it certainly has the power to drive my system far, far beyond any volume I'd ever need. For the price I don't think you can go wrong with the 1075. They show up on occasion on audiogon.com used for $800+/- A steal at that price. That's where I got mine.

Depending on what speakers you have, and how set you are on getting a rotel amp..

I and a few others have marantz mm9000’s they are 175X5 amps and sound wonderful, on an epic 60 system.

And you can pick one up for about 600$ or so.. great solid amp, I’ve had mine for about a year now, and still going strong.

just tossing out another option.

Currently I am powering a Bose system with a JVC receiver. I plan on replacing the receiver eventually but for now I'm going to get the amp as a start.

Tharkun, I love your system, but that sounds like an awful lot of power. How large is the room you are filling? I'm only looking at about 3300 cu ft.

That Marantz is a beauty as well. I know looks shouldn't count for much, but in my book they do. That's the #1 reason I'd likely never buy a Outlaw Audio product, or NAD. I know both have superb reputations, but dang, butt ugly stuff.
