I bought my first Axiom system. I got the Epic 50. 175 http://www.axiomaudio.com/epic50_175main.html

I have a Samsung 61 inch 1080p DLP TV so I thought I better get a better sounding system then my home theater in a box that I have now.

Quick question. I have decided on a denon reciever. Im trying to decide which one to go with. This one that delivers 100 watts per channel http://usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/473.asp or this one that is 90 watts per channel http://usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/511.asp the difference in the 2 is about $200.00 Which would you guys suggest? Thanks!

Congratulations! I don't think you'll regret it for a second. Additionally, you become a member of the ultra-exclusive and tragically hip M50 crowd. There aren't many of them around here, and they all seem to be convinced they know something the rest of us don't.

I'm sure the Denon owners will chime in shortly, but my personal feeling is that either of those receivers will be more than adequate for driving your speakers. I've got the M22s, QS4s, VP150 and EP175, and I'm driving them with a 90wpc Marantz. It's more power than I'll ever need for this room and these speakers.

I think you'll be delighted by your Axiom system, and I know that many of us envy your TV. Pictures, please!

The 885 is the same as the 2105 and the 985 is the same as the 2805. Don't worry about the difference in rated output - at that point, it will literally make no audible difference whatsoever. Shop for features/price. I'm sure someone with actual experience with those models will be along to offer meaningful advice.

Welcome to the family.

Alright! Bet you can't wait! As far as the Denon's go, I have the 2805, which is the black verson of the 985S. It has plenty of power and features. A quick look at the 885 shows a few less inputs/outputs such as 1 coax digital instead of 2. I don't see a whole lot of other differences other than output rating. If you are willing to go the refurb/bstock route you can get a good deal with a full warranty, like here.
Or you could move up to a 3805 for the price of a new 2805. But either way, I think the Denon's are fine receivers.

I know that my wife let me get the M50s in the door. And that we both love them.

Then again, I also know that I'm very impressed with the 22s, 60s, and 80s.

Ok thanks guys. Tom, let me know how to post pics here and I will take a few of the TV for you. I think I have decided to go with the Denon AVR-885S since most of you guys tend to agree that there wont be much difference in terms of sound. Do you guys have any websites that offer the full warranty and all that for the denon recievers and also have good prices. I like vanns.com Is there anywhere better? Thanks

If you look around a little more, I'm sure you could find either of those AVRs for a couple of hundred cheaper.
I bought my Denon 985 for $600.00 over a year ago.

Welcome!
I bought my refurbished Denon AVR885S from ecost.com. It was around $380.00 plus tax and shipping. I think you will be very happy with this unit. Good luck!
Cheers,
Shaun
